Century 21 Real Estate LLC

Century 21 Real Estate LLC is a real estate agent franchise company owned by Realogy, which also owns Coldwell Banker and ERA Real Estate. The name comes from the Century 21 Exposition held in Seattle, Washington in 1962. Century 21 Real Estate is headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Century 21 was founded in 1971 by Art Bartlett and Marsh Fisher, two real estate agents in Orange County, California. The company went public in 1977, was bought out by Metropolitan Life Insurance in 1984, and became part of HFS, the precursor of Cendant, in 1995. Cendant spun off in 2006, and Century 21 Real Estate LLC now operates under its real estate franchise branch, Realogy. Read the rest »

Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC

Coldwell Banker is a large real estate franchise owned by Realogy, which also owns Century 21 Real Estate and ERA Real Estate. The company was founded in 1906 in San Francisco after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake by Colbert Coldwell as Tucker, Lynch, and Coldwell, and in 1914 Benjamin Arthur Banker was invited to become a principal. In 1920 the company became Coldwell, Cornwell, and Banker. Bruce Cornwell resigned in 1940 and the company took its present name. Read the rest »
