Levies charged by local councils on housing development
Posted on Monday, July 13, 2009 in NSW Department of Planning
NSW Planning Minister, Kristina Keneally announced the final results of a review into the levies charged by local councils on housing development.
In December last year, the Government announced that it would reduce State infrastructure levies by up to $27,000 and introduce a $20,000 per lot threshold for council levies.
As a result of the review, twelve councils will now be reducing their levies to below $20,000 per block, with another appearing likely.
